Randy Allan Ognoskie, 70, passed away on the morning of March 14, 2026, in the comfort of his family home in East Bernard, TX. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many at work and in his community.
Born on September 15, 1955, in Wharton Texas, Randy was the youngest of 2 siblings. He grew up in Needville, Texas, where he met his future wife, Patrice. After graduating from Needville high school, he began working at Houston Lighting & Power, where he enjoyed a long and distinguished career of over 40 years in the energy & utilities industry. His steadfast dedication and professionalism earned widespread respect and admiration from peers and superiors alike.
In his free time, Randy was a devoted family man who cherished every moment with his loved ones. He poured his heart into coaching his son’s Little League baseball teams, sharing his passion for the game and mentoring young players. He never missed being there for any of his children’s sporting events, dance recitals, or important life milestones.
Randy was preceded in death by his father Larry, mother Norma Lee, brother Jimmy, and nephew Kyle. He is survived by his wife of nearly 45 years, Patrice, his three children Torrey (and wife Haley), Hillary, and Cody (and wife Madeline), and his two grandchildren, Wyatt and Boone.
Visitation with the family will be held on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, from 8:30 - 9:30 a.m., at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 839 Church St., East Bernard TX, 77435. A funeral mass celebrating Randy’s life will follow at 10:00 a.m. in the church. After the service, there will be a reception across the street in the Holy Cross Church meeting room.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to Holy Cross Catholic Church (839 Church St., East Bernard, TX 77435) or to Windsor Hospice (11750 Padon Rd., Needville, TX 77461).
The family extends heartfelt thanks to Windsor Hospice for their kindhearted care during his final days, with special gratitude to Elizabeth & Candace Williams, whose compassion and gentle presence brought comfort to Randy and strength to the family.
