Juana Mendez

It is with deep love and sorrow that the family of Juana Mendez announces her passing. Juana entered into eternal rest surrounded by the love of her family.

Born into a large and devoted family, Juana was the beloved wife of Tiburcio Mendez, with whom she shared a lifetime of faith, love, and dedication. She was the cherished mother of Delia Summy and her husband David Summy, Olivia Mendez Deiss and her husband Mike Deiss, and Mary Rohan and her husband Frank Rohan. Juana was a proud and loving grandmother to Matthew, Richard, Ariana, Michael, and Abigail, each of whom brought her great joy.

Juana is preceded in death by her dear siblings Lucia, Concepción, Franco, Procoro, Felipe, Enrique, and Blasa. She is survived by her beloved siblings Paulina, Josefina, Simona, and Cupertino, along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will carry her memory in their hearts.

Juana’s life was one of unwavering faith, kindness, and selfless devotion to her family. She will be remembered for her warm hospitality, her strong spirit, and the love she poured into every moment with those around her.

A viewing and rosary will be held at Holy Cross Catholic Church in East Bernard at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 21, 2025. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 22, 2025, also at Holy Cross Catholic Church. Juana will be laid to rest following the service.

Though our hearts are heavy, we rejoice in knowing she is now at peace, reunited with her loved ones in God’s eternal embrace.
